Post Disaster Support by HAPSA Nepal

After the disaster, families faced inadequate shelter, poor sanitation, and an alarming risk of disease outbreaks. Displaced communities were left without homes and lacked access to clean water, toilets, and basic hygiene. The risk of communicable diseases-such as cholera, respiratory infections, and diarrheal illnesses-was dangerously high, demanding immediate intervention. Alongside these physical health threats, mental health and long-term physical illnesses also emerged as major concerns, exacerbated by trauma, uncertainty, and poor living conditions.

 Post Disaster Response

We launched the Post-Disaster response, to address the urgent needs, focused on improving hygiene and preventing health crises in the hardest-hit communities. We distributed post-disaster sanitation kits and conducted a needs assessment so that vulnerable people could get immediate support. kits include- Soap, sanitizer, water purifier, sanitary items, toothbrush, toothpaste, masks, etc. Health and Sanitation kits are designed to offer immediate support while advocating for long-term public health capacity and infrastructure. Through the unwavering support from our partners Hamro Nepal Team for delivering items, special thanks to Health Foundation Nepal and other key stakeholders for their vital collaboration and continued commitment to emphasizing both immediate relief and sustainable recovery through collaboration and grassroots involvement.
